Subject: How fast can I be? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 RC Dak with 4.7, 3.92, 5-speed, and a drop in K&N. How fast would this setup be in the Quarter mile? I was also thinking of cutting off the original exhaust just behind the covertor back and adding a 50 series Flow with 3 inch pipe from there back will this help performance? What are somemore fairly simple mods I can do? Im waiting on the new K&N FIPK and maybe a Jet Chip. Im really wanting to get this thing to out run some fairly stock 5.0's here in the neighbrhood, Im thinking it could possibly do it as is but I wana be sure! Thanks for any possible help!

Message: Where are you located at? I put a 3" cat-back system on mine with a flowmaster and it slowed my truck down by 3 tenths of a second..... that equates to about a 20 hp loss! I would recommend a K&N with a F&B throttle body and a set of ET Street slicks for at the track. I don't really have any experience with the Jet Chip, so any comments I might have would be second hand info. My '00 CC 4.7 5-speed went 15.20s on street tires and 14.80s with slicks when it was bone stock. Your RC shoud be a little quicker than that.

Message: I have the Jet chip on my 4.7. It did help out performance when you are heavy on the throttle all the time. But if you are just cruising, it learns it and takes power out for MPG. It did help, but not worth the money.

Message: If it can't get the air in a free exhaust will cost you TQ and slow you down.K&N kit , TB , IAT adjuster ,then if you want more work on the exhuast --headers ,cat back.
