Subject: drop in gas milage, bad plugs? IP: Logged
Message: I used to get 15, 16 highway and then i changed my plugs, put in a 180 stat in and changed the radiatior fluid and then i found that i was getting around 11-12mpg. I kept a close watch on my mileage befor and noticed the drop soon as i changed everything. I don't know if it could be the stat or maybe the plugs are not the best for my 5.2 So i'm wonding what is the best plug for my 97 5.2?

Message: My guess is that its the 180 t-stat. The engine may use more fuel at a lower temp but give you more power. But this doesnt make sence because its sounds like its running richer and that doesnt = hp.

Message: Was your gas mileage better in the cooler "non A/C months"?
My mpg has dropped since I have to run the A/C all the time.
