 Subject: Dumb question about K&N Intake System

No jokes, but since they do not make a K&N Intake System for the 3.9L (from what i have seen so far) could i use one of the 5.2/5.9L Intakes on my 3.9L CC 99 Kota?

From what I've seen on various websites, the 2.5L/3.9L/5.2L/5.9L engines share the same K&N-style kit - Only the 4.7L requires a different model.
I bought mine through 360airintakez.com.

yes, you can use the k&n system from a 5.2/5.9 on a 3.9. it takes a little wedging and pushing, but it'll go in there. the filter ends up wedged almost by the radiator, but it works. i personally went with the intense performance intake on my 3.9 and i love it. goes in easily, and i noticed an increase in throttle response and all out power right away.

i have the stage 2 intense intake w/ 7 inch filter. it cost $125. BigO: i don't know about the 2nd gens. what does the stock intake look like?

Check out other post on home-made vs K&N. There are several 3.9, 5.2 & 5.9 folks interested in checking out a group buy on the 57-1509 fipk which will fit all of our engines. I emailed Bernd about numbers, will get back to you later about it, probably won't get back on here today as I work at a newspaper & our wire and internet is understandably crazy today.

Which is completely understandable. One of the worst days since and i quote "the attack on Pearl Harbor." Which makes me wonder. Is this the beginning of World War Three, unlikely. But who knows.
