Message: UGGHHH!!! you dumba$$ morons! The typical, "A v6 can't beat a V8" CRAP!!!! (note: that comments applies only to those who said something along those lines) And where did that one guy get off saying the Tacoma is a POS!!! HA! Last I checked, Dodge was a little bit down on the list for reliability. Now granted, I do like the r/t's and the soon to come out SRT-10 Ram. Now i wonder why the guy that started this post never posted back after a couple of months???????? I would say it's because he had his a$$ handed to him! FYI!!! Four Wheeler Magazine did a comparo of a TRD Tacoma 4x4 v6 extended cab vs. a Nissan Supercharged Fronier 4x4 v6 extened cab. The Tacoma got 0-60 in 8.9 seconds!! the Frontier 9.2 seconds! And NO!! The tacoma had no performance mod's done whatsoever! Also the S-Runner can hit 60 in 7.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile is 15.5! There are only mainly suspension differences and a "Sport-Tuned Exhaust" on the S-Runner as opposed to the Tacoma that this guy(starter of this post) was supposed to race. My point? His truck would win! Simply put! Provided he doesn't suck at driving!
"uh, um, duh, um, uh, me got V8, me faster than any V6, um, uh, duh,{drool}" Well that will be yall's little secret, umkaayy! (sarcasm)

I have a question for ya, why is it, that the S-Runner comes with a lower gearing than any of the other trucks, like a 3.15 or something if I remember right?
Also, why is it that the RC versions of the Tacoma AND Tundra do not come with the larger eninge upgrades?? (the Tacoma only got a 2.7 DOHC or something for an upgrade, and the Tundra didn't get the 8 according to the 2002 Catalog I was reading).

A TRD supercharged s-runner runs a couple
tenths of a second slower than the lightning....
show me a supercharged (no other mods)
dakota that runs as fast as a lightning.
Just cause it aint a v8, doesnt mean its not
fast...this isnt 1968....and muscle isnt

I'm sure there were faster cars out there but I did'nt find any. This little 2.8 inline six was super fast plus it would turn and stop one a dime. The number of cylinders don't mean a thing unless your a big block drag racer.

Message: Uh, for those of you who wonder why it is the Tacoma beat the Nissan supercharged Frontier, it just MIGHT have to do with the fact that the Nissan is one of the HEAVIEST, if not THE heaviest, small/midsized truck out there. I believe it is heavier even than the Dakota. And I wouldn't exactly call .3 seconds 'smoking' the other truck.

Message: This comes from the Edmunds.com Compact Crew Cab Comparison test. (By the way, for those of you who don't know, the Dak, of course, got first place in their tests all around. The S10 placed dead last. :)
"The 3.3-liter V6's raw numbers are respectable: 210 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque, but with the Frontier tipping the scales at 4,208 pounds, those horses have to move the pudgiest of the three true compact crew cabs."
The Tacoma Double Cab weighs a good 500 or so lbs less, and the Dak Quad cab is about 250 lbs more than the Frontier.
I personally would never look at the Frontier and say "That looks 200 lbs lighter than the Quad Cab" but it's true. Not sure how the others measure up, but everyone knows the Taco is lighter all around than most trucks.

Get your facts straight bub..So let me get this stragiht the truck has been around longer so it's better?
Tell me this mr.Dodge how come on averg japan's cars produce 40% more HP per liter than American cars/trucks.
Also tell me this? How come American avertise 300hp at the crank and on the average loose somewhere between 50-60% hp at the rear wheels and Japan cars and trucks loose maybe 30-40% hp?
And If Your so Pro American why would you buy a truck built in Meixco? My tacoma and my tundra were both built in the USA by friends and relitives. and not some distant native paid 2.00 an hour..
One more thing you ever notice how the cars & trucks that need longer warrentys have longer warrenies? Example Dodge 7 year power train warrenti I wonder why they have that..lol..
So anyways, Sorry to flame you, but I can only stand so much ignorance then I have to say something!
I love some of the guys here arguements "it's a V8 so it's faster!" Well I got a motor home with a v8 wanna race..lol

This is a DODGE DAKOTA website.
If you want to talk about tacos then you should go to a taco site.
Toyotas are assembled in the US to get around taxation.
95% of the manufacturing and parts come from Japan.
300 hp at the crank and losing a bunch of it before it gets to the wheels?
You must be talking about GMs marketing strategy.
Oh, and that old hp per liter thing.......... typical fuking riceburner mentality.
I personally like Toyotas, but you Toyota lovers are total A-holes!
GO AWAY!
