Subject: My approach to a cold air intake IP: Logged
Message: This is a little different as I haven't seen one
like it posted. But here is what I plan on trying.
For my '01 4.7 QC SLT+ Dak, I plan on attaching a
K&N directly on the throttle body. They have some
with different angled inlets so I might can find
one to work. I then will build a plexiglass "cold
box" around the filter with an aluminum heat
shield under it. Maybe insulate the box. I will
leave a hole on one side where I can attach some
large diameter flexible ducting routed to a cool
air source. Whaddya think??

Message: I had thought of that myself once, but i didn't
know what the part number was for the K&N filter.
just watch out with the heat though....you'll get
heat from the engine since its right ontop of the
intake manifold and possilbe heat from the
hood...you know sunlight??? but heck give it a
try and let us all know whow it works!!! esp if
you get more HP but also more MPG!!!!!!

Message: Run a hose from ac duct in to your air cleaner, you can control how cold you want the air by adjusting temp control.
