Message: Hey Blackdak, I have put in a K&N drop in and I am going to the strip tomorrow to compare from previous et's. My truck gives pretty constant times so I should be able to tell if there is an noticable change. I have to admit the butt dyno didnt notice a change, except the engine made less intake noise, even my wife noticed it .I think that makes sense as air that is flowing smoothly should make less noise??I will post tomorrows results good or bad. Also I will be racing my nephews celica GT,I think they run high 15's and I am low 16's so I am probably doomed but it should be fun.

Message: SwampDak, please let me know after you hit the track. If it is not any better then I will get a Z-tube instead.
Thanks

Message: You should gain at least 12hp depending on the mods u have but when i put mine on my 5.2 i forgot to reset the computer and it ran slower i was pissed but when i realized i was suppost to reset i felt a big differance i raced my boss in his V-Tech he beat me without the K&N kit but after i put it in i beat him pretty bad but i had headers and exhaust before if u have headers or exhaust u will gain a huge difference if ur stock u will still gain speed either way defintley.

Message: I think the original post was for a "drop in filter". If that is what it is speaking of (a normal K&N replacement filter) you will not see a HUGE difference. You will gain more MPG though. I didn't notice much performance increase. If you have the money go with a Z-tube. I seen one in person for the first time yesterday and they look very sweet on the 4.7. Sounded very nice as well with a 9" filter on it.

Message: Well.. I bought a "drop in" for my 5.2L and actually, it seems like my mileage actually went down...(go figure!)
Now I am going with a "cold air intake" with a cone filter from 360
Air Intakez. They also have a 4.7 Dak version as well...

Message: Tad is on the right track,I all so put one on my 4.7 Dak.I could tell the difference in power and my gas mileage got better(355 gears at 70 with my CC Dak gets me 19 on the eway, not bad for 4,100lbs.My truck runs much better with the cooler out side air, just because it sounds good don't all ways mean it runs better. You don't want to suck all the hot air from under the hood.
