hey guys i was just wondering if i would be able to beat a 99 or 00 s-10 extreme ext cab he has a k&n coldair intake and the rest is stock plus he has a stereo system in it.this kids brother doesn't think i can beat him. i have a 97 dakota ext cab 4x4 5.2 w/k&n mopar performance cold air intake borg warner cap and rotor 8mm taylor vertex wires 3923 plugs and a gibson cat back dual exhaust. so waht are my chances of beating him ? i also have the 180% t-stat and 31 10.50 a/t tires.. let me know thanx...

I had a '98 Dakota SLT 4x4 5.2L 3.55 LSD w/ open element air cleaner and dual catback exhaust. it ran 17.01@79 in the 1/4mi. I lined up against my friend at a stop light one time, he has a '97 s-10 4.3L 5spd. we were about even at 60mph when i backed off because we were in the city limits. It would be a good race kurt. If the guy has a 5spd and can drive it well(auto doesnt matter to much), id say he might have the advantage. I wouldnt be too worried about racing people in your dakota, it has decent acceleration but it is by no means a speedster. hope this helps!
