Message: I had the Bilstein's on my 97' ZR2 and was very impressed with them... gave a very nice ride. I liked them much better than the Pro Comp ES3000's (good shock, but very firm) that I had on my Toyota. Don't know about the Edlebrocks, but would like too. Anybody have them on their truck?

Message: I just ordered a set of Edelbrock IASs for my 97 from www.shockwarehouse.com. I will give you my impressions after I mount them and use them.
I choose these as I want to have some control over the big hits (potholes, etc.) and still have decent handling. Most other shocks including Bilsteins are good for handling but not the big hits.

Message: Hey guys, do the IAS's have lifetime warranties like the Gabriels I got not too long ago?
Either one, btw, is probably quite superior to the "premium" Gabriels. The rear was so stiff that one of my driver seat crossmembers broke eventually from the constant hits it took with my lower back. And the front still bounces! -z

Message: I have a ?
I have been looking at the Edelbrock site for avaibity. They do not make one for the Club Cab 4.7. I did not think there was no differnce in the suspention on the quad and rc. They only avalibility is for 5.2. or 5.9 quad or RT. RT comes in CC as well. Can someone pleas help me out with this one. I am pretty sure they will work. But want someone elses opion.

Message: The Edelbrock shocks for the RC and CC are the same. Only the QC is different and currently the website does not show any QC availability (this may have recently changed, I am only concerned with CC).
Edelbrocks do have a lifetime warranty as many other shocks but....what really defines lifetime? You would be amazed at what the legal definition is.
For the purposes of the shocks, the engine size has no bearing. The 3.9, 4.7, 5.2 and 5.9 all use the same shocks. Even the R/T with the 1" lowered suspension still uses the regular shocks. Now if you add a lowering kit or lift kit then the story is quite different.

Message: Regarding lifetime warranties, yeah I've heard that - lifetime of the part. Part don't work, it's lifetime has been exceeded, no more warranty. :-(
One of my Gabriels went out in four months (bad lower bushing) and I returned it to AutoZone and no questions were asked, but that might have been because they saw I was already ticked that I had to mess with it at all. A friend of mine is always given crap whenever he returns his stuff to his Autozone, so I guess it depends on the stores and manufacturers.

Message: Now that I have the edelbrock IASs on my 97 I am happy with them. They live up to their advertising hype. Give good firm (but not harsh)mride on the smooth roads but open up for the big hits (spped bumps and potholes) and still have good control. Most performance shocks donm't do well on bumps and poitholes but these do. Now to see how many miles I get out of them.

Message: Bilstein shocks have an unmatched warranty. They say their shocks maintain 98% of their effectiveness after 200,000 miles. Pretty good warranty if you ask me.
