Message: The process of making synthetic oils is all pretty much the same, I even test specific contents of the raw forms of synthetics in a undisclosed lab. The raw base of most synthetic oils(or PAO, polyalphaolefins) is the same(depending upon the weight/Vis). Most of your brands do not make there own synthetic oil, they buy the raw form from a major suppiler and add there own "secret additives". Some are a little better than others depending on the additives they choose. All brands of synthetics oils have extremely good benefits to any car or truck they run in and gives some peace of mind about a longer lasting engine. However, if you car or truck is not used for extreme stop and go, high rpm's, racing, cold starting, or your engine is high performance for heavy duty, your favorite brand of conventional oil works fine. However, I would warn all those from using synthethic oils in new cars or trucks(unless required by the maker.) until the engine is broke in.
