Subject: Wheel Spacer/Adaptor IP: Logged
Message: After doing a little research on our trucks, it seems somewhat difficult to find wheels in our bolt pattern..or else its I'm quite picky. So I was considering an adaptor to change it to a 5 lug, but I really don't like that feeling, especially after seeing what they look like. Any opinions? I wouldn't mind it 1) to spread out the wheels 2 more inches from the corners (stability....like it really helps that much, yeah right), and 2) like the wheel thing looks....

Message: call the wheel company that you like and tell them that you need the 6 on 4.5 pattern. they can get a set of blank wheels and drill them for you. the lug pattern is not the big deal.
the biggest problem with our trucks is the fact that they require a "high positive offset" that means that the face of the rim is pushed out so far that their is almost no lip on the rim.
some rim styles cannot have the "high positive offset" because the way the rim is styled it is not strong enough to hold it.

Message: Exactly how big is the offset on the GenIII? I know that the GenII is closer to the edge than the GenIII. I want to push the rim out toward the corners more anyway, but not too much so that I damage the wheel bearings with the different pressure points.

Message: some wheels you just can't drill for 6 lug. Take the 5 spoke Amer Racing Torque Thrust. Only way is with a 6 spoke wheel or on a wheel design that has the 5 spokes converging on to a larger diameter center. Other options are adapters, or even putting on new 5 lug rotors on front and back (if you have 4 wheel discs).
