I was just wondering if the QuickD intake system for the 4.7 is really worth the $160.00. It seems like a pretty good price but, what kind of numbers does it really put up?? Any help would be appreciated.

Most who have installed it (or the "Z-Tube" from Intense Performance) have had very noticeable gains in performance and are very happy with the systems. Unfortunately...no one, that I have spoken with, has any Dyno sheets yet on just the intake tube system.

I ordered one and installed it in my 00' CC 4.7 2wd Dakota and took it to my local drag strip. I lost about .2 tenths in the 1/4 mile and it made a ton of noise. When I try to return it, the Quick D guy told me to send it back for a refund. I did, and he said he never received it, and advised me to call Fed Ex and claim for a lost item. This guy is a crook and his product is not dyno tested. The piece sells on the shiny chrome look of the tube and that's it. The old adage is "you get what you pay for", and in this case it is more than true. Stick with a K&N GenII or drop in the box and save yourself the headaches. The 4.7 loses power with alot of mods unless they are from well established sources who use science to engineer and test their products. Some guy working in his garage is not gonnna out-engineer all of Chrysler's engineers! I've used K&N's kits in 2 other cars and they gave an average of 1.5 to .4 tenths in the 1/4 mile and were very reliable. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I own a '01 CC 4.7 2WD 3.55auto. The only mod I've made to my ride so far is a 2 chamber flowmaster catback. I've had mine dynoed after this mod, and I have less than 15% driveline power loss. I'll be purchasing a Z-tube shortly, and will have it dynoed again to see what the gains are. Right now best 1/4 is a 15.5.
Probably buying it this week, and might have the dyno numbers by next Mon.

I have the QuickD, (www.quickd.com) it's not noisy at all, and is a snap to install. It may take a little while to get it, QuickD is just one guy. Mine was delivered all the way to Canada for just $10 shipping, and he phoned to confirm and advise about install, so that to me discounts evidence of him being a crook. There are a lot of intakes out there, read the info and decide which one you like!
