Subject: 360 swap mopar 5.2pcm vs 5.9 pcm IP: Logged
Message: I just swapped my 5.2 magnum engine out of my 1992 dakota for a 5.9 out of a 2000 rt. I had a mopar performance computer for the 5.2 engine and it seemed to run good. Had much more torque. I bought a mopar performance computer for a 5.9 94-95 ram and it seems to have much less torque and slow throttle response. From the info I have found it was supposed to be sluggish with the 5.2 computer and much better with the 5.9 computer. Can anyone make any sense of this? any help would be appreciated. Im using the injectors from the rt dakota.

Message: Are you running with an EGR or not? The '94 would have one and the 2000 would not. Don't know for sure but may be part of the problem.

Message: The 5.2L only had 2 O2 sensors .. one for mixture and one for cat converter efficiency. The 5.9L has 3 one for the left bank .. one for the right bnnk and one after the cat. If u use the engine harness from the 5.2L and you only have the two O2 sensors ... then when you plug in the PCM for the 5.9L .. then you are missing one of the O2 sensors for the mixture ... and when the PCM doesn't receive signal from the missing O2 sensor the PCM goes into "limp mode" ...and runs like crap

Message: My 92 only has one o2 sensor before the cat. Did the 5.9 motors in the 94-95 rams have a o2 sensor for each side? Any information will be helpful and appreciated.
