Message: Should be worth 5-10 hp. Check the hp rating differences between one cat federal emissions and Cali vehicles with the additional 2 precats for the same years and engines: about 5hp difference between the two. Bottom line - the cats restrict exhaust flow.

Message: The cats for Cali vehicles are also (usually) made alot more restrictive than those made for Federal emissions.
You could have two vehicles with a single cat, one Cali, and one Federal - and usually the Cali vehicle will always be just a bit slower because of Cali's regulations. Alot of times when specifying for new direct-replacement cats online, have to choose whether it's a Cali or Federal vehicle. At least, I've always seemed to run across that issue.

With the proper headers, I could believe that, but probably all but the complete majority of it would be from the headers.
Or if the cats were that plugged up to rob 50hp, I'd believe it, too.
Of course, with proper headers, to use them to the extent of their potential, you'd also need a better intake, rest of exhaust, heads, camshaft, longer stroke, carb/fi, etc etc...
All the parts work together. Doing only _one_ thing will not attain that much of a power increase on it's own - aside from Forced Induction, but even still to make that work to its potential you'll need better intake, heads, exhaust, camshaft, carb/fi, etc etc...

cats 100hp 3 cats 150hp. Did I spell this out well
enough for you?

Message: daddio is smoking something. There is no way in hell you are going to gain 50hp per cat, just simply taking them off. Unless he meant with additional mods, which he didn't mention...lol.
