 Subject: 91 318 exhaust. what do you think??

ok so recently i noticed my truck sounds a bit
different. after a little looking around i
noticed there are a few holes rusted into the
muffler. im thinking about just cutting it off
and taking the end of the pipe that has a 90*
bend and attaching it to the pipe where i cut the
muffler off so i get a side exit right before the
rear wheels. it wouldnt be anything fancy, just a
little modification to the stock exhaust. so what
do a think? it'll sound pretty nice i think

Without the muffler?? Naw it would be annoyingly loud, you couldnt listen to the radio or even talk to someone in the passenger seat without yelling.It would be entertaining for a week or two but thats it.

if i open the cutout on my dakota, its is anoyingly loud
it would draw MUCH unwanted attention from local law enforcment
1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars

after that cat would not be really loud, still loud though. But without a cat, it would be abnoxiously loud. Take off the stock muffler and try it, thats the only way to trulu know. The muffler has to be replaced anyways.

see thats what i was thinking. if the cat was
still on and i just took the muffler off it would
be loud but not too loud.

i have a 1991 with a 3.9 and it dosnt have a muffler on it and it isnt that loud its kinda loud but its a truck right

No, theres a huge difference between a v6 and a v8 as far as the sound goes. Not even a comparison.

i have a glass packs (BASICLY) after the cat, it doesnt sound too bad, not loud, and not soft
