Subject: Mounting 2bbl on Magnum manifold?
IP: Logged

Message:
I want to replace my tired pre-mag in my 87 LE with a Magnum V6, but I want to keep carb setup out of simplicity. Is it possible to mount a 2bbl on the Magnum manifold?

Someone mentioned that with some drilling and tapping, the pre-mag int mani would fit the Magnum heads, but I would rather avoid any unnecessary drilling and tapping of the heads.

I have one other question. Has anyone see and or done a flow bench test on their pre-mag and or Magnum intake manifold? I would like to take into consideration the better flowing setup aswell.

Umm, okay, thanks, I think.

I don't want to come across as a prick, but that kind sounds like an answer I would get from 18-23 year old, no offense.

Non-the-less, I will post in the correct forum.

Thanks,

- Joel

Joel, don't let well bother you. he's just one of the few deliquents that traffic on the board offering up their sarcasm or criticism as they cannot offer any helpful or knowledgeable information. more like 13-16 yr olds.

i'll check for your post on the v6 board.

Drilling and tapping ? The popular way to use a premag v8 intake manifold on magnum heads is to oval out the mounting holes in the manifold. Perhaps that would work for the v6 as well ? Since your partial magnum conversion should still offer more power, I see no problem with the question being posted here...

Don't worry, Joel, there is always some anal retentive prick that doesn't know the answer and feels the need to attack the poster. Carbing the v6 magnum is just as much a performance issue as anything else.

I don't think that the mag manifold design would work with a carb. Slotting the holes of the pre-mag manifold might work but plugging and remachining them would be a better way to go IMO. You need a vertical seat for the bolts. There are probably several ways to work around the problem.
