Hey,
To reset your computer, which yo can do but
your comp relearns after 200 miles, you take
the neg off the batt, trun the key to start
position for 15 seconds release it and then
connect batery. There your done. Youll
probably gain in the range of 15 hp at the rear
wheels. 4x4's are a b*tch. thats what i have.
There you go,
Josh

3.9 V-6 1999 SC JBA headers, RS Racing cold
air, B&W cap and rotor, JBA power cables,
MSD Blaster 3 coil, t-stat, 3923's, high flow
carsound cat, OBX Bomb tunable muffler, IAT
adjuster, ASP underdrive pulleys and a few
more goodies and nitrous to come soon.

This is the first time I have heard about the computer re-setting its self. Does this mean that the computer would learn the modifications by its self and adjust, OR that the computer will just go back to its original setting after a while? I have also added a Cat back system and am awaiting the addition of a K&N fiter system.

Hey,
the computer will "re-learn" the new conditions
after about 200 miles. Basically it wil train
itself to breathe deeper take in more fuel
etc...etc. but "resetting" will do it alot faster.
Hope that helps,
josh

1999 Dakota computer reset
IP: Logged

Message:
With all previously OK, I got in my Dakota 4X4 with V-8 this afternoon and the ABS and the brake light stayed on and the odometer (displayed but would not increment)and speedometer would not work (stayed at zero). Brake fluid was fine and it appeared to drive and brake fine. Thought I would try resetting the computer. How is this done on a 1999?

Thanks,

Tom

No high idle on initial start
IP: Logged

2001 Dodge Dakota Sport V6- Was taken to the dealer for head replacements. Now when you start the truck it will not go into high cold idle and shuts down. Runs fine after it warms up. No codes, Dealer change TPS, is still does the same thing. It was working fine before taken to dealer, the high idle that is. Any suggestions on what to look for. Should I replace or clean the AIV????? Lost for a solution.
