Message: Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with the Jet Chip for their 4.7? I'm considering getting one for my '03 QuadCab.

Message: I asked a similar question earlier. Seems the jet chips work ok on the V6 dakotas but not much on the V8s.
I am on other forums and seems the pcm's on some vehicles seem to learn the jet chip fairly quickly (2-3 weeks). People say they disconnect the battery and get their gains back.
you can get superchips, i have one on my 02 quad cab 4.7L and love it. I've been running the performance setting with premium gas and got 2+mpg better over the course of a tank of gas. My cost per mile is lower running premium instead of 87 octane setting.

Message: Thanks Dan but it appears the Superchips programmer is no longer available for my truck ('03 4.7 QuadCab). I went to AutoAnthing.com like you suggested in an earlier thread and the JetChip appears to be my only option. They sent me the wrong chip (their database is screwed up) and now I'm having second thoughts altogether about JetChips. I'm not sure what to do but I'd like a little more power than what I'm getting now and a little firmer shift. Any suggestions?

Message: Purchased a jet chip and also got the wrong one the first time around. The chip at first seemed to be a winner but over time it seemed to make my truck sluggish off the start. It just did not seem to have any jump. I took the chip off and it was a noticeable difference. I had my jump back. Gas mileage was better with the chip 2 miles more per gallon however off the line it felt like I was driving a semi. Waste of money in my book. Go another direction.

Message: To Creig: Superchips is making a programmer for the '03 Dak now. It is model 3815. I have one for my '03. It doesn't make a massive difference, but it does make it feel new again.
