Message: Jake,
NO, the M1 is for the now discontinued motors.
There is no real option for engine intakes for the 4.7, other than the non HO, and the HO. Either of which will work on a 4.7. the Non HO was on the 4.7 until aorund 03, then either motor(4.7 or 4.7 HO has the same engine air intake).
Not to be confused with an air intake thats before the throttle body, then, including HOmebrews (home fabricated), there are endless possibilities.

Message: Actually there have been 3 different runner length stock 4.7 designs - original, HO, and the compromise design that is now used on both configurations. Many people mistakenly refer to that as an HO manifold. I guess it makes them think they have a special part on their motor; but it's just a shared compromise design.
The M1 is for the 360 (5.9).

Message: Speaking of intake manifolds does anyone know where to get a cheap 99 3.9L intake manifold from?
I want to get one have it ported and polished or w/e and have it jet hot coated in the chrome to match my headers.
You think a junk yard would be a good place to find one?
Should I be concerned if it is used?

Message: Not that I'm aware of. Already done other mods; like flash or chip, cam change, getting rid of the restrictive y-pipe ? Lower gears will really wake up a 4.7 too. There's plenty that can be done to wake up a 4.7; that will work fine with one of the stock intakes.

Message: Graphie Dak has made his own 'aftermarket' intake for one of his 4.7's!
He took a stock intake, cut some runner length out of it, and JB welded it back together. He even posted a vid of it and of the truck running with it.
Unless you're way into mods, WAY into them, the stock intake will do just fine, and, it won't leak/burn any oil like the old LA engines did.

Message: well im havin to replace my crank bearing so im completely rebulilding the engine.i have about 2k to spend. im boring it 30 over. probably goin to turn the crank and rods 10 over. hopefully regrind cams with crane cams. maybe get rid of the two cats commin from the manifold. which brings me to my next question. if i cut them out and them weld my o2 sensors back in the straight pipe will the truck still run fine? im not looking at gears right now just because im wantin to do a solid axle swap later on. thanks for all the feedback
