Subject: spark plugs IP: Logged
Message: I just purchased an tune-up kit for my truck and it came with accel u-grove pluges. My question is if I should get the autolite plugs that everyone likes on this site, will it make a difference?

Message: There's no real advantage to the Accel plugs. But there's no disadvantage, either. As long as you already have them, I'd use 'em.

Message: Use the ones you want. No advantage to buying a different band.Even if there was a tiny difference, you would never recover the cost of another set.

Message: Jim,
I've used AL 3923's, and many still do. Other than maybe reducing some predetonation, or pinging, and a low cost, there is no advantage to this plug over another plug. If you REALLY needed a plug change, then any plug will increase performance slightly. Other wise, a well tuned engine, should rarely, if ever NEED plugs.
I currently am using a set of Bosch platinums that I got on sale about three years ago. Runs the same.
