you can go with most any size/combo and it won't make a noticeable diff between them, or so I have heard

Message: My friend runs straight pipe on his R/T with a 3" pipe into a Y pipe then dual 2 1/4 out. It doesn't sound good at all. Sounds very choked and raspy. He's using 3" tips which I also disapprove of. I ran straights on my R/T before I wrecked it. I used the 3" pipe into a Y pipe but ran 2 1/2 duals with 3.5" tips. Now it sounds MEAN! I would probably go with a 3" in / dual 2.5" out flowmaster 40 series and use some 3.5" tips. That should sound pretty good. I must say I am not a fan of Flowmaster and I would personally use a Dynomax,Spintech, or Borla muffler in place of the Flowmaster.

Message: I have a flowmaster 30 series 2.5" in and out(single) I have had the tailpipe off and noticed that I get a loss of response and a loss in gas mileage However I do like the sound with the pipe off.
