Subject: Runnin' 13's at the track... IP: Logged
Message: Well both Rammer's 5.9 Ram and our friend Frank's 383 Camero made it into the 13's last night. Both of these sucker's I've been helping them wrench on for the last year and FINALLY they both were running at the same time and we went to Speedworld last night.
(1Hotkadota, Where were ya?)
The Ram ran a variety of e.t.'s and at one point blew apart another no hub fitting for the turbo. We fixed that and one time he ran a 13.69
Frank's car got into the 13's pretty quick and I drove it a few times. I got a 13.47 one time.
And Frank's car has a stock PCM, old injectors, everything stuck onto his new 383 stroker.
I bet it could run better. Then the spray will get 12's at least.
Here's the video from last night...

Message: Oh he was tickled pink that it went so fast! :)
When he bought it, he was stuggling to get it into the 14's with the stock LT1 engine in it. He was doing low 15's most of the time. Sure some of that was tire spin.
We had the tires aired down to about 15PSI. And they were new tires. At first we went around the water like we usually do with stock street tires. however he finally did a burnout in the water pit and amazingly it grabbed way better when doing that. So he must have some pretty soft rubber to do that.
On my first run in it I only gave it half throttle and it spun for a while. Then I did the burnout after he told me it was ok to.
When I ran the 13.8 and then the 13.47 it hooked pretty damn good!
It's a little faster than my 4X4 Dak has ever gone down that track LOL! Yeah, 20+MPH faster and almost 3 seconds!
He's still running the stock injectors and probably partially clogged. He should go up a few Lbs and remove the stock exhaust. Then high 12's may be around the corner.
Rammer just needs to see how well he can get that thing tuned and see what he wants to do about upping the boost while keeping it safe!
His truck ran a 17.0 the first time, then high 16's with the 4.10 locked rear. The turbo on the 318 dropped it to 14.6 and then his best of 13.69 Friday night wasn't bad for a truck.

Message: Kick ass on the turbo work Graph!
Sorry I couldn't be there, but I was in Florida for the past week having the time of my life. God I miss that place.
I figured out how I can do a front mount turbo on our trucks that should work pretty good without us having to flip out manifolds over.
Next time you guys go to the track, let me know. I just picked up an LSD for my truck and after I put that in, I really want to try and get some new times.

Curly, I could hardly tell when I was standing right there. But it does spin when it builds boost.

Message: Mine's a 4.7 4X4 QC and low 16's was the best it ever ran. Stock Hemi's run low 16's in a QC form as well (then 15's with a tuner, etc). 16's seem to be where all stock trucks are (excluding special ones like Lightnings, etc). Some stock V8 trucks are as slow as 17's.
Rammers RC 2WD Ram was about 17.0 with the stock gears, 5.2 auto tranny etc. With 4.10 gears he got mid 16's. Then mid to high 14's with the turbo 5.2 and then now mid to high 13's with his turbo 5.9
The other car at the track is our friends 383 stroker LT1 Camero and right now I've been soldering together a serial adapter so we can plug a laptop into his Camero to check it out and tune it.
It kinda pisses me off that I can't find tuning software for our Dodge trucks, yet there are tons for them damn Chevy's! Heck, I saw tuning software for sale for 2007 Corvettes. WTF?
And the stuff is cheaper than buying a single SuperChips or Hypertech. :(

Message: Dude tell me about it. I didn't know about the 07 Vette thing. That really pisses me off that we can't tune our trucks like everyone else.
hey dude, you guys still want to help me with my turbo install? I just ordered a J-pipe for the exhaust and I'm going to take JM756's advice and buy an extra fuel rail to have a hydrolics shop insert a connector to the pressure check valve so I can have a return fuel system!:)
Like I said, I'm going to have the exhaust run up front under the truck and come up to meet the turbo inlet. Then I'll run the oulet piping down near the A/C condenser and down by the passenger side cat. It should work pretty well.
Also, do you guys think I should by the FMS 24lb injectors? I've seen them on e-bay and their pretty cheap.
I've got my truck lowered now 2front 3back with drilled rotors up front and the Hotchkis swaybar out back. Think handles like a dream. Now comes the hard part of the LSD install.:) Later guys

Message: if i were you i wouldnt run an return line, you will have to see how mine is done.really easy and simple, when i had my return line,my booster pump actually cavitated, and it sounded bad. i thought pump was going bad.i would get those fms injectors, stock injectors can lock up when having extra psi pushes through them and BOOM.you should come to my side of town soon to see how i have all my stuff done, and you can make a list also.

I really want to see your truck man! What are you doing this weekend? My cell is 480-861-4082 if you want to call me and set up a meet time and place. Later dude!

Sorry for the confusion. I know what Rammer has!
I meant come on out to the track and BS while we wait in the
staging lanes. Last friday night was a cluster. I was there for 6
hours and made 3 passes. Hopefully everybody else got
discouraged and I'll be there almost by myself?
Hahaha, yeah right. Now that the weather is turning nicer, people
are going to the track.

Wholly cr@p, that was a busy night.
Been to FB and PIR when the staging lanes were only 10-15 cars deep, 20-30 runs a night no problem!
But that was 20 years ago ;-)
Have fun out there guys!
