Message: Bassini has the whole Y pipe from headers back to the bassini high flow cat.It was intended for the 5.2 dont make one for the 4.7 But the guy on the phone told me I could make it work.Thats what I told the muffler guy and he did.He said it should be fine to take it back to him if not. Its been great so far.Very pricy thoe was like 380.00 with the high flow cat.You can go to there web site .

Message: I have a Magnaflow y-pipe and hi-flow catalytic converter (Magnaflow/Carsound) on my '01 4.7 RC 5-spd 2wd. If you have any intake/cams/exhaust mods, the factory y-pipe is the real bottleneck ruining your performance intentions. Slight mpg improvement helps this mod pay for itself over time.

Message: It is the "generic" dual 2 1/2"-into-3" y-pipe. As part of the exhaust mod, the 2" factory post-manifold pipes were replaced with 2 1/2" pipes before the y-pipe, a 3" converter replaced the 2 1/2" factory version, leading into a Flowmaster 70 with 2 1/4" duals and 3" stainless tips. I'm major happy with the results. The 4.7 sounds like its 80 cubes bigger.
