Subject: JBA headers IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone tried JBA headers on a 2001 5.9 quad cab, and had a terrible problem with fit and positioning on the passenger side. In particular, not being able to gain access to the nut that gives access to the control arm bushings?

Message: If you need frequent access to "the nut that gives access to the control arm bushings", whatever that means, perhaps you have more wrong with your suspension than you're telling.
Did you know that the 4x4 has a different suspension layout than the 2WD? Do you know which version you have?

Message: I don't need "frequent" access to change the control arm bushings, however, the previous headers made by Edelbrock were melting the control arm bushings from thier housing. I contacted JBA to see if they had a solution and they recommended thier titanium ceramic coated headers for the 2wd Dakota. Now that I have made the header change, I need to take the vehicle back to 4 wheel parts for new bushings, but as stated in my earlier post, the positioning and placement of the JBA collector flange prevents access to replace the bushings. There is nothing wrong with the trucks suspension geomerty that would cause this problem. the vehicle has never been hit, as I am the only owner, so there is no question as to the vehicles accident history. Again, I am looking for someone who has had a similar problem with the same brand header / model of truck so that I can find a solution, rather than hypothesis and shot in the dark suggestions. none the less, thanks for your comments.
