Subject: High idle IP: Logged
Message: Ok here is what is going on.
I have a 03 Dakota 5.9l R/T RC
I recently decided to port my TB at home and did so. It looked relly nice and once I put it on and reattached everything My idle is way up there. I did make some small gaps by the blades during my porting job. I can nopt set the TPS above .45 V or else it does the high idle deal.
also tried to set it higher and it set of CEL for high TPS V. Would adjusting the idle screw help my issue or any other ideas.

Message: well most likly the gaps around the blade is the ploblem the motor is getting more air than it should at idle so it thinks more i need more feul when that happens the idle goes up

Message: I got the idle smoothed out now, but the TPS is at .45V which I know is low. Though it feels like it did before the TB with the TPS set at .72V Is this condition bad for the engine, or should I just get a new TB and chalk it up to experiance.

Message: i would say just buy a bigger tb because porting is not the easy thing to do and a lot of skill goes in to it and as you have found out one mistake leads to more problems down the raod
