Message: Won't do much except move the torque peak higher up in the RPM range. Not all that practical. Save your money.

Message: Skip the intake swap, and install HO cams instead for a cost effective HP/TQ gain on a '01 4.7. No other parts needed for the swap, unless you want new valve cover gaskets.

Message: As you said, "...unless you WANT new valve cover gaskets".
most gaskets on the 4.7 are o-ring and reusable many times over :)

Message: Or at any Dodge dealer - they're the stock cams for the HO 4.7. Some advertise discounted pricing in some of the mopar magazines.

Message: The HO intake will show its benefit after 4000 rpm. It helps the engine produce power where it didn`t before.
If you get other parts like cams, tb, cai, headers etc, you`ll love the combo.
This way, the torque you loose with the intake,(before 2000 rpm) is compensated w/ the other parts, bringing it all back to the original feeling of power.
Then, after 3000, it is really rewarding all the way up to 6000. I love it.
If you have 3,92 dif, it will help atenuate the torque loss. If i was to start moding now, i`d get the 206 cams instead of the HO.
