Subject: a true performance question IP: Logged
Message: i know there arent many out there with the 05-up dakota buti have some good questions about it. when it comes to roller rockers and cams and engine performance stuff like that...if i get it for the 4.7 engine will it fit? cuz nothing is made specifiacally for my year and model..its just the engine on most websites...same withgears.... i tried searching for bigger gears online but i dont know if it will fit... how do i know if these things will fit? i relly need some performance stuff since there are no chips for my truck... please help

Message: The best way to find out about a specific part is to go down to the local Dodge dealer and ask. For example, ask for the part number of a replacement rocker arm (I forget the actual nomenclature), and see if the 2003 carries the same part number.
Cam shafts can be tricky. a 2003 camshaft may fit just fine and work exactly the way it's supposed to. But the 2005 PN may be differant because the lift is slightly differant.
In those cases, you either have to buy one and try it out, or wait for somebody to do the same.
