Message: Yes it is a good idea Trucky they worked for my Truck very well.I also installed a kn cool intake and a Superchip they all might of worked together but the truck really came to life after the headers were put on.

Message: Despite Josh's name calling, I'd still like to hear from anyone who's dynoed a decent gain with the 4.7 headers without also replacing the Y-pipe...
Anyone ?

Message: I did my mods in fases.
First, was a not so famous Jet2 chip, ported 68 tb, K&N fipk, Gibson headers and single 3 in, 180* tstat and the removal of the clutch fan.
I didn`t dyno it but was clear to my ears that the extra tire noise from the jump from the 2nd to the 3rd gear was much louder and longer.
Then, a few months later, i did the HO cams and the 02 HO intake.
I think that the low end torque i gained w/ the cams, i lost w/ the ho intake.
I`m not complaining. I think this engine has decent torque to begin.
The point i want is that now, it makes power where it didn`t before, between 4 and 6000 rpm.
I`d do everything again, exept the ho cams that i`d buy the 206 and the jet chip in favor of the Leach flashing.

Message: Yeah, a lot of us are happy with the Leach flash (or other ways to get more spark advance) and a cam swap. Still looking for anyone who's dynoed a decent gain for the 4.7 with the headers without changing the y-pipe.
Anyone ?

Message: Ok mr.Kolwaski when you say Y pipe are you talking about the little piece that is in the shape of a Y that connects the The two pipes comming off the headers to the Cat or are you speaking of the whole crossover system from the headers to the 3inch pipes?I purchased the little piece that looks like a Y they put that on the same time as the headers and 3 inch pipes.I think you are talking about the pipes right from the headers to the cat.Muffler shop said he would make A 3inch system for me for 150.00 dollars thought that was expensive till I saw the masini Unit they want 450.00 just for the sytem comes with a high flow cat though,.I will pay the muffle guy.

Message: The whole section is called the y-pipe; but its the section where the two pipes come together into one that is restrictive.

Message: I am looking into headers but would never leave the stock y in there if i did. I hope i can do it next spring. Going to get a high flow cat at the same time. I'm going to dyno after but I don't know if my gains(or lack of) could be compared with a N/A motor?? I"m running boost. I think I would benefit more from headers than a N/A though. I have heard they are a waste of time N/A because the stock manifolds flow very well.
