Message: I don't think there is a whole lot that can be done to the V6 w/out really going all out on the engine internals. I've heard of some people getting good results with superchargers. There is, of course, a chance that your engine will wear out sooner than it otherwise would as stock; then again, there are people out there that get 100k+ miles with a supercharger.
One thing I've seen many many V6 people do is to put a V8 throttle body on their V6 trucks. Seems to help quite a bit according to what I've read. You could also do some modding and put in a functional air scoop hood. Other than that, I can't really thing of a whole lot off-hand you can do externally with the V6. You could always do the 5.2L swap if you're feeling really daring! :D

Message: The 3.9l V6 is the same as the 5.2/5.9l V8, with 2 less cylinders. I know that sounds like a stupid statement, but it's true and important.
With that in mind, read all the performance posts about the 5.9 and 5.2 engines. You'll get about the same performance change on your engine, percentage wise. I mean that if a mod nets a 10% gain on the V8, you'll also get a 10% gain.
Computer flash, cold air intake, rocker arms, rear end gearing, etc, all will make good durable improvements on your V6.

Message: Supercharer, Turbo, Or N20 would be your best bets without messing with the internals. People who say you can do it with high miles are ignorant newbs. Im still running the stock engine at 140,000 miles and no problems so far. You gotta remember...Its all in the tune.

Message: bolt on a 200 shot of nitrous, advance the timing a bit, and hang on. dont retard the timing like the manual tells you to do. that will just kill hp. have fun! btw, bring a fire extinguisher and some oil soak just in case something goes wrong.

Message: all a throttle body does is regulate air going into the motor. fuel is introduced via fuel injectors. btw, a larger tb wont do you any good without other modifications.

Message: Putting too large a carb on a motor won't necessarily flood it out; that would depend on the jetting. The real reason that can hurt performance is the loss of engine vaccuum.
I find it hard to believe no one will help you in the v6 forum; there are helpful people there discuussing the performance mods they have done, or are contemplating. Are you sure you've aproached the subject there with an open mind ?

Message: You could put a V8 throttle body on your V6; lots of people do it. It will help the top end and maybe the mid range, but it won't change the bottom end any. It's not a carb, so you don't have to worry about overall size as much. If it's too big (and that's hard to do) it will still run good at the tbottom, but the pedal becomes more switch like - more tricky to maintain fine control.
Headers and full exhaust will improve the upper and mid range. They sound great. But - unfortunatly - they won't do anything for the bottom end. And it's pretty expensive.
