Subject: Time for a rebuild!~ IP: Logged
Message: took the truck to the drag. LACR
i dont remember my best but here is the average.
reaction .328
1/8 11.43
1/4 17.9
first gear goes great other than having to let off for it to shift out of gear. 2nd slips back and forth and i have to once again get out of it, having to shift at 3500rpm 3rd is fine. traction is good and my friends said it chirps going into 2nd gear.
the trans shifts fine in every gear and holds fine in every gear but 2nd. all this only occurs under full throttle other than that you could drive it and think it was in great shape as long as your not pushing it to its max. i adjusted the TV cable and could mess with that more but im just going to rebuild this trans my self with expert help for my senior project and rebuild the 727 torqueflite later for a friend.
it will cost me around $600 for a rebuild kit thats with a Trans Go parts.
just thought i would cheer up some v6 dakota owns that thought they were slow.
truck has a 159k miles on the 44re and is still reliable but not there when i push it to its max.

i raced a honda the first race a beat him and i ran a 18.03 because i let off at the 1/8th mile.
second race was against a chevelle with semi built motor. i had him off the line and through 1st gear and part off second than the trans started slipping. not sure of the run time.
i raced against a 750cc street bike and smoked his azz! :-D lol
last race i dont remember...
$20 that night but when school starts it will go down.
i will let you know next time i go out in advance. and see if your might blown 3.9 takes down a v8
