Message: Wear your seatbelt. Ha, sorry...I've never raced, just felt like being a smart-a$$. Some obvious tips would be to not race with a full tank of gas, and lower the psi in your rear tires a bit(not sure how much)
Have a good one!

Message: 1. Put tail gate down.
2. Dont try to rev your engine to intimidate the person you race. It just makes you look like an ass.
3. Dont do a major burnout.
4. Dont lower the tire pressure to much. Street tires are designed to get maximum tracktion at recomended pressure
5. This helps me not sure if it will help you but I leave on the last yellow because im slow on the tree. If I leave when I see green I get a bad reaction time. If I leave on that last yellow I almost nail it every time.
6. Push in your breaks and push in gas holding about 1500 RPM and when u go floor it.
Anyway I hope this helps and good luck. Post some times after you go for us.

Message: If you dont get any tire spin than there is nothing your really gotta do. Just hit it when its green. If you have an auto you could brake stall up to around 1600RPM or so. Then feather the gas when you let off the brake at the light. Do a quick throttle punch after the water box. Go around the water box though. You just gotta spin the tires a couple times around to get em clean.
Its whats under the hood that counts........

Message: yea, its supposed to be like 100 degrees over here in ohio tomorrow, or today i suppose technically. im not really expecting to break into the 16's with my mods. dynomax catback, airaid cai, and summit brass cap and rotor and wires, but it should be fun. thanks for the tips and i'll post some times. by the way mopar318, very nice truck. my grandpa had one exactly like that one, same color and everything. except his wasnt supercharged.

Message: All of what they said BUT--- I wouldn't race if I didn't have the cash to make repairs for broken stuff. Racin is another word for wear and tear. When you beat on the truck--- and you will beat on it at the track you always run the risk of something getting broke. It might be a good idea to save a few bucks before you do this. I'm telling you--- no matter how much you tell yourself you'll be careful, once your looking at the tree and the lights start to run down you will not be able to stop yourself from going hammer down. REMEMBER the key to going fast is CONTROL---- both yourself and the truck.

Yup, worked like a charm when I was into racing! That bit of time going from the last yellow to green allowed for my reaction delay and the delay of the truck's tire breaking the light. I used to have a very fast reaction time and hardly ever broke-out.

Message: for a first timer just wanting to see what it'll run- pay no attention to the reaction time, it plays absolutely no role in your ET or mph. you could sit there for 30 seconds and run exactly the same time as if you were to get a perfect lite.
