Subject: Header hitting brake buster IP: Logged
Message: I bought flowtech headers. I kept hearing this noise so i nosie so i took it in to the dealer. And I got some more info on the problem when i picked the truck up. They said the header was hitting the braker buster box. That's the round cylinder on the drivers side. When the engine moves a little the header hits it. I was thinging about puting the thermo wrap tap on the header and mabye it would cushion the hit. Any ideas? My truck is a 1999 5.2L.

Message: the brake booster?i dont like the sound of anything that hot being so close to your braking system.heat is a major part of brake failure so make sure you resolve the problem.
good luck

Message: Whats a brake buster box? maybe you mean brake booster or the brake proportioning valve? maybe you can move this brake buster or a little dimple in the header or if you have too you can put a shim on the motor mount to raise the side thats touching a bit
