Message: The SXT's had gray bumpers and fender skirts as opposed to chrome or body color. No perfomance differences. It was an option on any model Dakota or Durango from 2002 - 2004.

Message: SXT's were base model Dak's with the following upgrades: V6, auto, a/c. along with the funky grey textured bumpers & flares. my brother-in-law has an '02 SXT CC 4x2. doesn't even have tilt wheel.
i don't know what yr might be '03, but they started with r & p on all models.
sorry but SXT does not mean "sport extreme". my base '00 Sport has more standard options than an SXT and body color trim to boot.

Message: Yup, all the 4x4's have had rack and pinion since '00. The SXT is about as basic a Dak as you can get around me - never seen one with a 4 cylinder.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Message: SXT = Plain Jane
They've used this sales tactic on several models, both trucks and cars.

Message: LOL, didn't someone ask this a few months ago? I forgot to check back on that post anyway...
Our 2004 Grand Caravan is an SXT model. I don't know what it means on that either. But rather than PLAIN JANE. it's the TOP, TOP model for that van. It even has the top luggage rack painted the same blue as the rest of the van rather than plain black plastic like 99.9% of the other vans have. And it has every other option as well.
My Dak doesn't even have any badging, like SXT, SLT, V8, etc. I think it said SPORT something on the title. It's not a base model, but I didn't get every little thing either, like the trip computer or leather like our van has. It has everything else though.
Maybe someone at Dodge could explain the SXT model. Because it don't make any sense to any of us so far :P

Message: when i bought my dodge I asked the difference and they said it was just a new name for the sport. But from what I've seen on the sports they pick and chose which trucks got options and what didn't. I have an '00 sport 4x4 that's very basic except for the 22 gal tank and Tow Package. Other than that it's manual everything.

Message: I like MOPARS, especially since they're getting a lot of leftover Mercedes technology. I find it amazing that outdated German chassis & transmissions are still better than what the American manufacturers can come up with new.
Dodge's use of the SXT nomenclature is confusing - on Dakotas & Durangos it was a base level option; on Magnum, Neon, Caliber, Stratus it is the mid-level model between base and R/T. On Caravan it has been the top model since they dropped the LE designation. Now my head hurts.

Message: Very funny. But the funny thing is that 3.8l V6 in our SXT Grand Caravan accelerates pretty close to many V8 Dak's, and would walk away from 3.9 V6 Dak's!
Sad, but true. And it's not a MitsuBitchi made V6 BTW.

Message: GraphiteDak your truck is probably sport "plus" Comes with pwr windows, tilt steering, cd etc and probably blk 4x4 stickers on the back but that's it. I'd have liked to have gotten the trip computer as well but they're too expensive as an after market.

Message: Sport Plus eh steve o? That's it I bet because you nailed it on what it came with.
I bought it as is on the lot. It also has the heavy duty towing kit, which included a tranny cooler, extra fan, big battery, something like a 130 amp altenator, etc. Not sure if that is part of the package or an add on that was already added on LOL!
And the 4 wheel disc brakes are huge for the size of the truck. They have lasted forever. I changed my front pads at 40k. They had 1/3 of the pad left! It was close to a $30k sticker.
Our SXT Grand Caravan was a $34k sticker. But we got a good deal on it.
