OK, so I havent actually "dropped the motor" in yet, I'm debating whether to go for this little project based on whether I think that I can handle it or not, and quickly/cheap enough.

I have a fresh JE flattop 360 with a fresh brand new "All Out" Shady Dell W2 top end on it. This thing has been sitting undercover in my dads shop for a while now, and I'm itching to fire it and run it in... I'm waiting for get the Demon body to get back/done, and therefor put the 360 in it(the Demon). Its going to be a while befor Im ready for an engine in the Demon (read: no deans 101)

SO... Brilliant idea! I have a 1992 2wd Dakota ext cab, sitting that doesnt run, with a decent body. I think I can throw the '60 in there without a load of cash and break the motor in and tool around for a while until the Demon is ready? Eh?

Problems:

1. I know the 360 Will bolt up to the A500 in the pickup right now, (it is a fresh trans) but a converter and flexplate will be an issue. Another alternative will be to yank the 500, replace with a 904.

2. I can get the enigne and trans in the truck, bolted up, plumbing plumbed, hardware fastened, and the whole she-bang ready to rock, and I can do it quickly... except for the wiring. The wiring has me intimidated. How do I even start? Get the motor in and use http://www.moparts.com/Tech/Archive/elec/3.html and start wiring up electronic ignition and just hope for success? What about the charging system? what about the lights ang all the gauges?

3. Headers. I have a set of W2 header exhaust flanges that I bought at a swap meet off of a dirt track car. I can use those and cut up a cheap pair of Dakota Headers and be good to go... Or forget the flanges and lose a few horses and use the dakota sb headers directly to the W2's...

4. Engine mounts. I have planned on a small block dakota swap for this truck for a while now. So shcumacher it is. After the 360 comes out and goes in the demon, ill build a mild 318 for the truck, or maybe ill like it and build a 340 for the demon...

Let us converse.
