Boy, these Google Ads S U C K!

I would love to have a Demon Duster :)

Well it depends on what he has in it. A 340 has some GOOD flowing heads to begin with. That is for sure.
But if he's all motor I should be able to take it.

I may keep the boost down more than planned. I really don't want to blow this thing up as expensive as the engine is.
350HP to 400HP on the street would be more than enough to go crazy.
Then at the track I'll have to figure out how much rick I am willing to take when turning things up!

At this moment. My first goal is just to get the engine together. Then I can test the wiring harness and all that on the engine stand!

Then I'll install it without the turbo to get it all working.

Money has to wait a bit though :(

Unless I find a good deal or something.

I actually OWE taxes this year! I was thinking I'd get a return as usual. Someone must have been fackered up on last years W2's from the employer.
But now I OWE as much taxes as it would cost to get the expensive RODS and PISTONS from KRC!

How about THAT kick in the arse?!

Wife give a loan????? HA HA HA HA HA!!!
She don't care about my car in the garage!
She never has any extra money anyway. It's easier to squeeze money form a turnip than get it form here.

She sure can buy a Duney and Burke purse when she can though!!!

On a GOOD note. I found a guy with used rods for sale. SO I may be in luck if I can swing that soon.

Mine perfected the "look" Most of the time I don't even get an answer. Glad to see I'm not the only one paddling that canoe! She's into the big time English Dressage riding. That stuff cost's more than most of my projects, plus you don't really have to have a barn for your car too. Anywho good luck on the used rods.

Ah thanks. Looks like I made a deal for them and may get them soon.

Work is starting to pick up. It's the end of the pay period, and I got almost $500 in commisions OVER my normal wage. BUT I also missed a few UNPAID days of work in this pay period. Sooooo. If anything it will balance out and I will just get a NORMAL pay check next time which will all be gone on bills :(

Anyway, I MAY be on my way to another good pay period. If these two jobs go through I sold, I already have $400 in extra commision for my NEXT pay period which I'll get in 3 weeks. So. If that goes well, I'll be able to get my timing chain set and maybe the gaskets and pistons rings. THEN I can start to re assemble this pig. ANd maybe get to start the pig up on the engine stand soon!!!

I found a set of used rods and pistons and they have been shipped to me. I should get them next week or so.

I'll then go get the piston rings and then I can at least get the crank and pistons assembly together and clearances double checked.

I want to get the engine able to test fire sometime this summer. Even if it's on an engine stand :P

LOL! Yeah I've started a few engines on an engine stand before. But it was carbed engines with simple HEI ignition, not something like this that needs a wiring harness and has eight spark plug coils!

Anyway, according to FedEx, my rods/pistons should be here Wed.

I'll then grab some piston rings and start to assemble the bottom end.

Yea there was'nt any room in my fantasy for computers and wiring harnesses, so I left them out.
I've read in this forum how you clean injectors. I wanted to know a couple things before I give it a shot.
1, Do you (carefully of course) clamp the injector in a vise or something?
2, Do you hold the air pressure on continually, or pulse it with the injector lead?
I would like to go with some four hole FMS injectors, but for that kind of money I'll try to get the stockers back up to speed. Thanks

LOL I've managed to clean the injectors with my own two hands trying to hold everything. Using a vice carefully would help a lot.

What I do is use an air gun set for over 100PSI, and pull the trigger and HOLD it. Then I pulse the 12VDC to the injector by tapping the unhooked lead to a battery. Sometimes I'd spray cleaner in the injector, then push it through with the air and I could actually see the spray patterno go from either crap, zero, etc to a normal mist.

It has worked every time. But have never done it on a Dodge yet. Mostly Chevy/Saturns. But that kind of thing works the same.

Today I received my eight used, but good, rods with pistons on them.

That is one hurdle I just over came. Now I need to see if I can swing some forged 8.5:1 pistons for this 4.7 I'm rebuilding.

All I know of is the Ross ones. And someone said Summit has them, but could not find them on their web at all.

Anyone know of a better price for the Ross pistons? KRC has them, but I think they are fairly expensive. But that may be the route I have to go.

Thanks for the info. Keith Black will forge any size piston you want......if you have deep pockets. All I have seen for the 4.7 is from KRC. You may want to deal with the vendor personally if possible, to cut out middle man finders fee.
Good luck on finding them for less than I'd say $700

Yeah. Ross makes aftermarket pistons for it. I think they are sort of a custom order as well, but at least it's already something they have been producing.

I'll have to give them a call sometime.

Yea all you can do is give them a holler. I had KB forge my 273 slugs due to no avalibility like the 4.7. Gave in the neghborhood of $650, about ten years ago. Friggin outrageous then, can only imagine prices now. Anywho, They will take your finished bore size, skirt length, and pin to crown higth and cut a set. I don't have any expereince with Ross, but have'nt heard anything bad in the race circuts here. They should be able to operate somewhere in the same fashion I'd hope!

That's what I figure. I should stick with Ross if I do it I guess since they already make 4.7 pistons and would not need anything from me to make a set.
