Message: ok, i really don't have any faith in cold air intakes. but if there is a good one out there i wouldn't mind trying it.
on my 2000 dakota 4.7 4x4 it seemed to do nothing except make it sluggish in the summer and anything under 3000 rpm. sounded like it was straining.
does anyone have one that pulls the air from OUTSIDE of the underhood area, because don't most of them pull from under the hood which is just hot air anyway. hot air is less dense and makes less power. gimme a clue if i am wrong.

Message: I have the shaker hood on my Dak that pulls air directly from the outside. You can hear that sucker sucking cold air into the scoop if you stand by it. Not only that but the looks of it alone adds 50 HP. lol

Message: I'm told Amsoil is coming out with a remote air intake. Plumbing may look like someone elses, but the filter will be much better.
