Message: My stock brakes suck. The truck is a 2003 4wd cc w V8 and 5-speed. The rotors stil look pretty good and this is not a performance vehicle for me (my mustang fits that bill) so what brake pads can I put on to get better braking?
Right now, especially if it is damp out, it feels like it takes soo much ppedal effort and travel and it jsut doesn't haul the truck down at all. On a dry road I can't even hit the ABS (onloaded of course).
Thanks.

Message: Even though Auto Zone said they were not for the dakota. I got the Durango version of the porcelain. They are awsome.

Message: nick01,
I presume you meant ceramic. Similar but tougher.
Have you moticed race cars with ceramic pads and rotors under heavy braking? Looks awesome!
Anyway, please tell me what's better about them.
