Message: Can you replace a '93 automatic tranny with a manual tranny (and clutch) just by chopping a hole in the floor, changing to a flywheel and replacing your computer?

Message: you wont need to replace the computer for that year.
but dont forget clutch pedal assembly, brake pedal, and they hydraulic system for it... not sure, but you might need a different length driveshaft.
it all sounds easy, but it will require a little bit of work.

Message: I have always wanted to convert something from an automatic to a manual. Here is my idea....
Keep the brake pedal and throttle pedal in the stock location. Fab up everything for the manual tranny and cut a hole for the shifter. Intead of putting a clutch pedal on the floor, Put a handle on the shifter with a potentiometer reading the amount of leverage on the clutch handle. Wire that up to a circuit board with a custom program (not really sure how to do it but my dad who is a engineer said he could design it). Circuit then runs into a adjustable solenoid to control how much movement you want.
Im not sure if anyone has ever though of this before, But I really want to do something like this. I had a 125CC shifter cart that had this type of shifter on it. I really liked it.

Message: mopar318 are you talking about having a lever shifter on the stick shifter kinda like a shifter on a dirt bike? if that is what you are talking about that is a great idea and i have thought of that also. my friends 5.2 rc 97 stick is a blast to drive and i ask if i can drive it ever time he comes over. the stick the Dakota's use is one of the best shifting sticks that i have ever used.

Message: Fed, search here: www.car-part.com. They link salvage yards all across the US and Canada. You could look for all the parts you need and figure an approximate cost.

Message: I would be interested in keeping my '93 automatic if I knew where to get a good automatic tranny that would bolt up to a magnum motor. It seems the more potent the motor the worse an auto tranny is. Is there a good tranny or combo in rebuilds for the magnum?
