Subject: Glasspack vs Muffler ? IP: Logged
Message: Hello,
As of now there is a 3.9 v6 in my 1992 dakota but my exhaust needs to be redone after some recent damage.. I do plan on putting in a stroked 408 this spring and I dont want to have to redo the exhaust after that so I'm willing to sacrifce perfomance until then. Would a glasspack to be too noisy? I want something that is free-flowing though and will not restrict my exhaust.
Let me know!

Message: FLOWMASTER TRUE DUAL, but wait till u get the motor in to spend a bunch of money on the exhaust b/c if u run longtubes u would end up tearing it out anyways. I suggest a little cheap glasspack for now.

Message: hmmm,... well, I want the best unrestricted muffler for performance so sound is not a big deal.. because I want to have cut outs above them.. :-D

Message: I recently put on a Gibson, mellow tone, not annoying in the cab - yet it is so unrestricted you can see straight thru it. Probably a little quieter than some might prefer, but doesn't seem to be any restriction.

Message: Get a cheap straight thru muffler and worry about maximum performance after you install the new engine.
