Subject: Crunching tranny IP: Logged
Message: I have just started to notice when i first start up my truck and accelerate there is a crunching noise that sounds like its comming from the tranny. My truck has 130,000 miles but the tranny shift firm and never slips.

Message: If you mean step on the gas while out of gear and cluch out, I'd guess front trans bearing > Same situation with cluch in > Throw out bearing > If while driving gowith first sujestion and add the posibility os a cluster gear bearing > This is all providing yuo have a standard > You really need to give infermation to get right advice

Message: I have an auto tranny. I can only hear it when I lightly accelerate and only about for 5 minutes then the sound will go away. I was thinking that it could be the front U-joint. I will have to check it tomarrow.

Message: I dated a tranny once. He/she wouldn't crunch, but they munched really loud.
