I was supposedly clocked at 168 mph by the Florida Highway Patrol on Hwy 50 while riding a friends highly modified KZ11000 back in 85 coming back from the Orlando Speedway. I spent the night in jail over that one.
145 mph in an LT1 Corvette-engine powered Camaro coming from Daytona to the Titusville exit in roughly 15 minutes. Normally a 45 minute drive at the speed limit.
Yes, I am an old guy too.

About 260 KM/H (160 mph)in my boss's euro spec Porsche he asked me to drive from Ramstein AFB to Hanau, GE one night. The sad part is that I got passed.

168 wow that pretty good. How the hell did they catch you? No way they would have had a chance to get the plate. Doesnt it feel crazy going that fast on a bike. It doesnt even feel like your touching the ground. Ive never ridden on a bike that old though so i dont really know how they handled.

About 155 mph on rejay turboed "77" KZ1000. CHP had stoped me on I80 Sacramento area. I pulled over but stayed on the pavement. He pulled over about 50 feet behind, got his right wheels on the soft sholder. As he was walking towards me I hit it real hard, shifted into 2nd@ around 48 mph the fu--ing thing went into the death whoble I had to shut it down, befor jumping on it again 2nd gear took me to about 70 mph if I remember correctly. 3rd well over 100 4th gear 130 or so.
1980... Highway between barstol Ca. and Los Vegas.
Car: 1966 Sunbeam Tiger with a 1970 Boss 302 replacing the ford 260 . at 170 MPH I noted that I was closing in on a car ahead of me real fast! I let off the fuel....You dont want to hit the brakes at that speed. As I got closer I realized it was a Nevada state troper, By the time I got really close I was still doing well over 100 I then moved to the left lane ( on coming traffic lane) and just blew by him. He never put his lights on me to this day I cant figure why he did not stop me!
1997 Just bought my Vette Zr-1 350 4 cams 16 fuel injectors 32 valves. the guy I bought it from had installed a Cat back borla system He gave his dyno sheet showing 473 rwhp. I took it on the freeway shortly after the purchase. 171MPH ! could have done better.
I now drive a 88 passenger school bus

School bus Max speed 55MPH in this state. I dont speed too much now days....Just getting older.
After training as a School bus driver I started driving like your grandpa. As a matter of fact I am a grandpa, 3 times.
Still have the Vette.

The police radio was faster. Seems I passed one who radioed ahead. I was stopped by a FHP car parked across the road just outside the city limits and only about 1.5 miles from where the local FHP station was in Titusville.

You bring memories of my Army days in Germany, I got passed by a beautiful yellow Lambo on the Autobahn just outside Rhein Mein AFB back in 89. I was riding in my roommates Escort GT (with a donut spare on the front left) and doing about 90 (I know, donut spare and 90mph are not good)when he pulled out of the far left lane due to the flashing headlights WAY BACK behind us and that Lambo must have been doing 150+ when he passed us....maybe much more.

Hey Izzy, I also got passed by a Lambo outside of Rhein Main, but that was around 84-85. Of course, I was in my Opel Kaddet, so even if he was doing 100mph it still would have looked like I was standing still.
What did you do at Rhein Main? I was there from Jul 82 thru Dec 85 with the 7th Special Operations Squadron.

Hi Lizzy,
your most likely correct about the cop not wanting to kill himself or me.
The Sunbeam Tiger, Was by far the fastest car I ever owned or been in. The list of my rides includes:
6T8 charger R/T (the real R/T) 440 six pack 4 speed.
6T9 Boss 302 mustang (real fun to drive)
70 428 CobraJet Mustang.
6T7 427 Vette.
70 GT Ranchero wedge 429 4 speed, Now this car would light them up for city blocks.
Of corse the Tiger and my current Vette.
Oh by the way I never mentioned I also am a fellow Dak. owner: 02 4.7 QC auto Loaded usual Mods. I think so far it would be the best pickup I have had.

I was raised at the 1/8 track at Beckley, WV. Just after I joined the Army, my old man built a Datsun 240Z with a 440 Chrysler stuffed in it(I think the quickest it ran was about 6.60). It was really quick, then he added a 250 shot of nitrous. That was scary. All you saw was blue sky when you tripped the line lock. I've often wondered what that beast would top out at with some 3.23 gears instead of the 5.43s.

that is sweet that your dad put a 440 under the hood of datsun 240z and with nitrous. big balls must run in the family. i have a video on Limewire of a guy who put a 502 crate chevy in a 280Z with a supercharger. he got on it on a roll on and the thing got side ways at 40 or so mph.

130mph (3rd gear @ around 5200 RPMs haha) or so in a 5 inch lowered '93 Dakota EC 3.9L auto. has a TB, and 3" piping w/ magnaflow

im not exactly sure but my guess would be a 3.55, because that year they came with those or 3.90
oh i forgot to mention that i have 29 inch tires on there as well...
and it is a 3 speed automatic with OD

oh and i wasnt too positive on the 130 mph claim, just a rough guess because u know how the older speedometers get a little off accuracy the faster you go?? well, mine is pretty off because i took a GPS to it one day and my speedometer said we were going about 100 and the GPS said 110. And at 95 we were doing 100 on the GPS, and so on and so forth. One night i didnt have the GPS unfortunately and i hit 110-112 mph on my speedometer but really should be doing around 125-130 mph.
