Has anyone used the Bosch Platinum 4 spark plug? Is it a big improvement on gas mileage and acceleration, or is it a bunch of hype? I've used the Platinum 2's b/f, and I could tell a little difference in acceleration, but not noticable on gas.

All in your head > Replacing OLD PLUGS is going to be a noiticable improvement IF the old ones got 10,000 or more miles on them >The 4's well last a long time but they have low arc over so weeker spark and that is somewhat made up for with more consistant firing . there is no perfect plug > run what you like > there is no plug made that fires 100% >

So do you think running the 2's would be good enough? I can buy those at Wal-Mart for pretty cheap.

Yea the 2's will be fine. That's what I run and when I changed them out a little while after I bought the truck they had 4's in them and I couldn't tell a difference at all. Maybe at most 1-2 mpg difference now that I think of it.

Go with the Bosch +4 #4417. They are one step colder than the 4418 that Bosch specs, and they work great!
They help control any ping and your throttle response and mpg will greatly improve.
I've been using them in my '99 V6 for about 60,000 miles and I will never use anything else....Especially the over-rated Autolite 3923's!!!!!!
