Message: the other day i did a doughnut, and now my stupid power steering makes a sorta dyin noise when i turn the wheels at a stop. Is this a sign that the pump is goin out or is it a loose belt or is it because the mechanics said i need a powersteering flush?

Message: What's so wierd about replacing the fluid in the P/S system, it needs to be replaced just like other lubricants. I've had 2 Daks (00 and 03) that I've flushed and filled the P/S system with Amsoil Universal ATF. The old fluid was burnt, brown and plain nasty,,, ran the Amsoil in the 00 for 60K and it looked perfectly fine.
If the pump is making noise and on it's way out, I doubt flushing is going to help. But if you can do it yourself it might be worth the $10 of P/S fluid to see if it fixes the problem.
