Subject: Poweraid TB spacer for sale for 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: I am selling my TB spacer for a 4.7. It was only on my truck for a couple of months. Asking $75 obo. It does add a little low end torque to the motor but not a whole lot of high end HP. Feels really good at about 3000 rpm. I will pay for shipping.

Message: Need the money to pay for some bills that have come in from my wifes recent surguries. I may go to a bigger throttle body one day. But for now we could use the money. Dont have too many other things I can sell off the truck. Having to sell a few other things around the house as well.

Message: SA,
You should be happy with it. I know I was. Like I said, it does make some good torque, but didnt seem like a whole lot of top end HP. It really kicks in around 3000 RPM's. Just dont expect it to be like you just put on a super charger.

Message: I already have one, but I need to ask you something Hawk, how would you achieve similar gear ratio of a 3.92 with 3.55. What size tires would you need?

Message: You would need tires about 28 or 29 inches tall with the 3.55 to be the same as a 3.92 with say 30 or 31 inch tires. As an example, I have 3.55 gears, my stock tires were 30 inches tall. I now have 32 inch tires. My overall gear ratio is now basically a 3.24. My buddy has the 3.92 gears with 32's so his is about 3.55 now. Hope your not totally confused now.

Message: Actually Jeke it does quite well on the 4.7. They just dont do much for the 3.9, 5.2, and 5.9 as they have completely different manifolds.

Message: Hey all,
I just put a Poweraid on my 01' 4.7L yesterday, and here are my immediate views on it. I feel nothing in the low range (RPM), but there is an obvious greater "pull" in the mid-range. Not much, but it is noticeable. Now, what that means on the dyno, I don't know, haven't tested it, and the nearest one around where I live costs quite a bit to use. As for gas mileage, give it some time and we will see. Was it worth the money? Well, for $90, lets just say the experimentation was fun and worth it, but I wouldn't pay more than that, even though there was an obvious, albeit, slight improvement. Also, the linkage spacers for the kit require some doctoring, FYI.
Take care all!

Message: Huck, I didn't need to adjust the actual linkage on my 4.7L w/ the Poweraid spacer. Only thing you have to do is move the linkage bracket forward using the supplied equipment. It IS a bit of a pain doing that though and took me a while to get everything unbolted, positioned right, and bolted back down. The bolt on the back side of the bracket is the most difficult to get to because it is covered by the linkage lines and the space to get to it is slim unless you have the right tools. You will probably need more tools than what they list, but in the end it was well worth the effort. :) Goodluck! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Message: People still BUY those TB spacers???
The 4.7 runners in the intake are very long as it is. Like 20" if you stretched them out. I have the 2003 intake that has them SHORTER ones compared to the earlier 4.7 and I have lots of grunt at 2200 RPM's. The earlier ones probable MORE there but less at 5000+.
I couldn't see a TB spacer doing anything for the engine. I'd save that money towards a Programmer if you want something you can at least feel with a butt dyno.

Message: Yep, people still buy them.. Including me. The Poweraid spacers are noticably different from other TB spacers that just add TB length though. The Poweraid spacers have machined spiral grooves along the intake section to swirl the air coming in. Made a very noticable difference on my rig when you stomp on it. There is also a noticable low-end difference when going up hills (don't have to shift as much). The bonus gas mileage is also nice when I keep a light foot. For $100 or so, it was worth the risk and I'm not disappointed. I'd love to get a programmer, but I don't really have the $200+ dollars to sink into one. LOL

Message: Holy crap, this whole forum has never changed since I was last on here about a year ago.I had problems with the transmission for the Gen-I V6 (of course). I finally got a 318 to replace that tired motor. Besides from a few electrical system problems (the old TBI injection and spark computer), the rest was relatively simple to swap and put in. I know this has little to do with this post, but oh well. BTW, I remember you, IntenseDak. Wow.
Like I said, this place hasnt changed. People still ask if you can swap a 239 v6 out and put in a 318 or 360 v8. People still asking if throttle body spacers for the Magnum engines work (I wouldnt waste $100 for a $5 piece a aluminum that is anodised a nice, pretty color, but it really doesnt do too much at all). Is there people still asking for the part numbers of those Autolite spark plugs? I thought by now there would be a nicely organized archive of all this stuff by now. I am not bashing anybody, It is just interesting. There is still a bit of ignorance here and not enough of the professionals or the really experienced dakota enthusiests. I cannot say I wasnt totally ignorant on many issues with my Dakota then. This place is helpful and can often save you a heck of a lot of trouble and pain. Also, why isnt anything organized by the Generation of your truck? Alright, I gotta go. This place brings back some interesting memories. Peace out!

Message: Uhhh-kay... well, you can just call me a modern day rebel, Tony, for getting a Poweraid TBS. :P Look, all I know is that it made a difference on my rig, and I am happy with that fact. It is helpful being I live in the mountains. It was a calculated risk; an experiment if you will. I never claimed to be an automotive genius or to know a whole lot about Daks. If we were all professionals or experienced Dak enthusiasts, then there wouldn't be much need for this board now would there? Everyone has their own opinions as to what works and what doesn't; that is what makes this place so useful. Everyone has a different way of getting things done, and I respect that. If I ever have a question that I just don't know the answer to or am afraid to try until I get confirmation, then this is the place I would come and post.
