Message: i assume from your other post that you're from windsor, as am i. how does your 180 t-stat work in our cool winters, if you had it in last winter, and would it affect your e-test? TIA.

Message: I've had the truck since new. It's only got 21000 km's on it. It gets parked for the winter. It flew through the E-test just fine. I also have an accell 300+ digital ignition system on it. My emmissions were actually lower than it's first test 2 years ago. This year I tested it with the throttle body and air cleaner still on it(not stock), and didn't remove the hypertech flash either.(set at the 92 octane level.)I still have to put my headers and exhaust on it now. I am tryiong to get it done for Windsor weekend in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll get it done by this weekend so I can take it out to the track to get the CalTracs dialed in.

Message: Sounds like insufficient fuel supply. Either need higher-flow injectors, or a fatter curve in the fuel programming.

Message: Bigger injectors?? It runs out to 5500 in first and second, and pulls like mad. It's a 2000 R/T R.C. it should have the larger injectors in it already.(the ones in it now are red). I also have a M.P. 2400 stall converter and transgo shift kit in it. It kind of feels like either the truck is going into overdrive, or the converter is locking up. I'm going to pull the hypertech program out and see if it makes a difference.

Message: The truck is likely going into overdrive, with the M1 2bbl you should pull harder above 3000rpm than with the OEM manifold. Whenever you drag race you should turn the OD off using the shifter button.
Headers/Exhaust and a 50/52mm throttle body will also help boost a bit of power.
I would also recommend unloading/selling the Hypertech and going with either the Mopar Performance PCM or a B&G PCM flash for your OEM unit.

Message: Maybe you're just not making as much power as you thought you would. As you get into the speeds where 3rd gear is involved, the aerodynamic drag (which increases exponentially while speed increases in a linear fashion) soaks up all that HP you were feeling in the lower gears at slower speeds.

Message: Turns out it wasn't the converter locking up as i first thought, it was shifting into overdrive at 3800. Before the shiftkit and converter it never did that under full throttle. If I shut the OD off now it's fine.
