Message: Sometimes a spacer may make a small difference, but it depends a lot on intake configuration.
It does nothing for the 4.7L engine because the downstream side of the throttle body is just a big plenum area, with the intake runner openings pointed up and tucked away deep inside.
In the case of the 4.7, a spacer merely makes the plenum larger, and does nothing to change the speed or size of the intake air charge.

Message: I personally had a t.b. spacer on my fastman t.b. Ran it on the dyno. removed the t.b. spacer and ran it again. The result was a 9 h.p. increase without the spacer. Why would you put a spacer under a ported t.b.? I was just starting this dakota thing at the time and didn't know any better. So, the jet t.b. spacer was thrown in the trash.
