Subject: Bore and Stroke A 3.9 IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone here ever bored or stroked their 3.9L V-6? Is it even possable? PLus how much do you have to worry about deck height and things like that if you could stroke the engine? And what type of cubic inches could you pull from doing this to a 3.9L V-6 (239ci)? I have the formula for figuring out cubes depending on bore and stroke somewhere at my house.

Message: There are no aftermarket crankshafts available for the 3.9L Magnum engines. You can always pay an engine builder to make you one...nothing's impossible on that, but it will cost substantially more than a factory crank.
You can bore it larger (about .030" safely) but that's about it.
Cubic Centimeters = ((0.7853982*(((BORE*25.4)^2)*(STROKE*25.4)*CYLINDERS))/1000)
Cubic Inches = Cubic Centimeters*0.0610237
