i have heard you can shave almost a full second sometimes off your ET just by getting closer to sea level

Message: I've seen them all over the place on times. Lots of variables. For instance a reg. cab R/T with few options may run 14's but a club cab is a sec. slower. Same goes for 318 trucks. My 93 reg. cab stock 318 ran 15.60's. The gen 3's were a little slower because they weigh a couple hundred lbs. more. Most reg. cab gen 3 trucks I've seen go high 15's low 16's. Add about 1/2 sec. for a club cab.

Message: Back in '98, my first 3 runs with the '97 club cab 5.2 and California stock computer (which is what they put on Ont. ones from the factory) were 16.8, 16.7, 16.8. My pb is in my sig., still 5.2 and still normally aspirated.

Message: My 98 regular cab 318 auto ran 15.70 @ 84 mph with just a flowmaster muffler w/ stock pipe. It was a real cool day and I ran it with the air hat removed. I could have done a few tenths better. I was taking off at the line off of idle. With some new tires I probably could have stalled it up some. Oh yea, I have 3.55 gears with the suregrip rear.
I live in louisiana.
The stock R/Ts around here are about what my truck runs. Regular cabs goin around 15.4s and ex cabs around 15.70s. Thats also taking thier word for it being stock also. I did see one regular cab run high 14s with a shot of spray. I dont know the deal with his to be that slow.

Message: it was so slow because its the first time i ran it and it was all driving error....my truck dyno'd at 225hp at the wheels and my 15.8 was at 89 MPH...
i can cut about 4 tenths off that time with some practice on my reaction time

Message: I guess when my 2001 4x4 CC Sport 5-speed 3.55s, 4.7L was stock, it'll run about the same as a 99 with a 318.
but I also have a few mods now, like the HO cams, KN INtake, Gibson Headers, F/B 70mm TB, and Flowmaster 40 series Exaust.
so, more than likely, I am probably in the mid to low 15s. give er take. if I am lucky

Message: But you should probably go run it before you guess. It would be a bummer to expect something and then run say 16's LOL!
I'm saying this because I have a QC with similar mods (minus the headers and mine being auto) and have NEVER ran mine either.
I'm hoping I'm in high 15's and not still in 16's (where a 4X4 QC would be).

Message: I hate guessing too, but, a stick and being a club cab, might be about a second quicker if I am lucky,
but it also depends on the driver, and reaction time, and it also depends on (In My Case) the Strength of the Clutch, considering I have 80,000 miles on it, I havn't replaced a clutch yet.
I am hoping to be in the mid to low 15s, but I have to try it first, like you said, I hate to expect something and get something I didn't want
