Message: I have this problem at full wot. First gear pulls to 5200 rpm (60-65km)then shifts to 2nd which then pulls to 4000 rpm shifts into 3rd for a second then back into 2nd which pulls to 5200 which is around 110 km. 3rd & 4th work just fine. Played with the kickdown cable, brought it to several tranny shops, they played with the kick down cable... uh uh Please somebody give me some advice on how to fix this problem or narrow it down. It's a 2000 RT CC.

Um. What exactly is the problem?
It's an automatic tranny connected to whatever engine you got, and you feel the need put the gear selector in "D" and run it wide open, expecting it not to shift when the logic circuits tell it to?
It's gonna break soon, ya know.
If you just gotta, use the shift lever to select the gear you want, when you want it...that's what it's for.

he said it shifts to 3rd breifly then right back to 2nd again near red line!
If the downshift linkage doesn't fix it (touchy on 46RE, etc) you may have a sticky valve in the valve body or even a sticky valve in the governor.
That can be a bummer. You MAY try to flush it and hope it clears up without getting worse!

Message: I can try to flush it but to add a little more information... In the last 4 years I've had two rebuilds on this tranny due to complete failure. I only paid for one rebuild. Since day one the tranny never really shifted right which was ingnored by the dealership which then cost them at the end when I blew the thing up. On the second rebuild I ran into the same problems so under warrenty I got a new valve body installed which didn't really do much. Now once again I'm having problems. I'm in a love hate relationship with this truck. She loves me when I spend lots of money on her and hates me when I don't. I might have to break up with her soon...
