Does anyone have this type of exhaust on their truck? What is the difference between having the muffler's at the tips vs having the muffler in the body of the exhaust? Is one better than the other for performance/sound?

HT makes both kinds of sys. Bought twin tailpipe muff type (installed myself) only prob was had WRONG main hanger...was VERY LOUD. Added 30" glas
pak in place of long head pipe(after cat/before splitter) & was better, but still too loud( 4 me)
Went to home depot & bought 2 2" pipe nipples & they screwed into the tailpipe muffler outlets, & allowed me to ad 2 Walmart chromed tips. This is now a perfect ex. sys. Minimum backpressure(all straight thru) great sound @ idle,but NO LOW RPM DRONE. ALSO repl stock air filter w/ K&N,
removed mech.fan&clutch(UNSCREWS) and my city mileage jumped from 12-13 to 14.5 mpg. I can really feel the power increase. Happy w/ HT sys.
Single in dual out "turbo" muffs tend to disrupt exhaust pulses-ie pwr lost-thru types generally flow better,but are LOUDER,hence my mods.Goodluk

I had a heartthrob exhaust in my 99 r/t and a year after installing it the muffler was cracked and leaking. I now have a megnaflow and am very pleased with the sound.

i have the HT with the muffler tips trhings on my 1990 3.9 and it did give a noticable increase in power and mileage
im happy with it
