Message: Most of the brands now list on the back whether they are suitable for limited slip differentials or not. If your truck is equipped with one just make sure whichever brand you choose says it is acceptable for that application. Synthetic fluid is pricey so has anyone noticed any difference in protection or performance while using it?

Message: I have noticed that I get better gas millage with synthetic gear lubes in my diff.'s and trans. I have also noticed that in the winter I do not have a hard time shifting before the trans. warms up. I have not seen any difference in wear. I have always changed my fluids in my diff., trans., and transfer case every 12,000 miles or 12 mounths which ever comes first. If you were leaveing it in for longer drain periods it would make a difference.
